The government’s program and budget, both released last week, set aside funding for new nuclear and provided deadlines for a formal tender, a decision on government financing and a small modular reactor (SMR) plan. On the back of all these new nuclear plans, the government is also looking to bring forward its timeline for finding a solution to the management of radioactive waste.
