The start of operations of the first phase of the BP-operated Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) floating LNG project offshore Senegal and Mauritania has been pushed to the third quarter of 2024, the energy ministers of the two countries announced last week in the Senegalese capital Dakar. This marks yet another delay in a project that is now more than two years behind its original schedule.
